Trail Work Day: American Fork CanyonJuly 31, 20108:00 AM - 1:00 PMOur first large trail work day of the 2010 season! We'll be partnering with the US Forest Service to reroute a small section of the South Fork Little Deer Creek trail (#252) just above Elk Camp. There is a large mud bog that forms each spring and riders have created double and even triple track going around the bog. By creating this reroute, the trail will go around the mud bog and will stay as single track. Come help us with this project. To participate, meet up with us at the Elk Camp location at 8:00 AM on Saturday, July 31st. Elk Camp is approximately 1.5 miles down Cascade Springs Road in American Fork Canyon. Elk Camp is on the right hand side as you travel down Cascade Springs Road. If you arrive later than 8:00 AM, park at Elk Camp and hike up the South Fork Little Deer Creek trail approximately 100 yards to the work site. For details, contact the work day leader Steve Winters or (801) 592-5521. Check our Events page for details. Feel free to print out and distribute a copy of the work day poster. Do you like to ride? Have you ever wondered how you can give back to the mountains? Join us, a club of mountain biking enthusiasts centered in Utah County. We are riders, trail builders, trail advocates and partners with other trail users. We look beyond the next bend in the trail and the next ride to ensure trails for the future. URMB currently has adopted the Bonneville Shoreline from the Provo River Parkway trail to Squaw Peak Road (Trail #219) in Provo Canyon. We've also adopted the Ridge (Trail #157), Ridge Connector (Trail #216), Salamander Flat (Trail #150), Pine Hollow (Trail #047), Willow Hollow (Trail #159), and South Fork Little Deer Creek (Trail #252) trails in American Fork Caynon. URMB is an IMBA affiliated club. We follow IMBA Rules of the Trail. We need your help to maintain trails and keep them open for mountain bikers as well as other user groups. Club activities include: trail building, proper trail maintenance, and advocacy. We currently conduct trail work and trail-advocacy with the Uinta National Forest Service and Provo City. URMB will never let meetings interfere with riding! Join up and help us grow! Join the club |
